My name is Ashley Rose.
I’m 33, born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts (I can’t wait to get out). I have been clean since February 21, 2013. I’ve had to endure a substantial amount of trauma, but through therapy, medication, a solid group of friends, keeping that PMA (positive mental attitude), I continue to heal and persist forward. It’s an everyday battle, but I’m constantly learning and growing.
The Wilted Rose Co. was/ is named after my grandmother. Over five years ago, I was her, and my grandfathers primary care giver until they went on to whatever is after this. The long and short of it is I was unable to leave their house because they couldn’t be left unattended, so I started painting again in their basement. The Wilted (Alzheimer’s) Rose (Mammy, also me). While that time in my life was wildly bitter sweet, I’m forever grateful for a multitude of reasons, but The Wilted Rose Co. is one of them.
I use creating as a coping skill to help me process my past and my present… If I can somehow make my life more sustainable while helping others by sharing my experience along the way …. I’m certainly going to give it my best shot.
I’m just scratching the surface, but we can crack all the other eggs at a later date. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning, or if you’re just tuning in….. Thank you for being here. Your support in any capacity truly means the world, and I can’t thank you enough.
